Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data is processed when you use CinemaHub, why, and what rights you have. CinemaHub is designed to collect as little as possible: there are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies set by CinemaHub itself.

Who is responsible

The data controller is the independent operator of CinemaHub, based in Morocco.A contact address for privacy requests will be published on the contact page.

What is processed and why

Requests to the website

Like every website, CinemaHub’s servers receive technical information with each request: your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser’s user-agent and the referring page. The hosting provider and the content-delivery and security service in front of the site (Cloudflare) process this to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, and may keep it in their logs for a limited period under their own policies. CinemaHub does not use these logs to identify or profile visitors.

Rate limiting

To stop automated abuse of search, CinemaHub counts requests per visitor for a short time. It does not store your IP address for this: it stores a one-way keyed hash of it, which cannot be turned back into the address, together with a counter. These records are deleted automatically within a few hours.

Error logs

If a page fails, CinemaHub records a technical error message (for example, which part of the code failed). These logs do not contain IP addresses or anything you typed.

Search queries

When you search, your query is sent from CinemaHub’s server to TMDB to find matching titles, without your IP address. Results are kept briefly in a cache keyed by the query text, not by who searched.

Data stored only in your browser

My List and your preferred where-to-watch country are saved in your browser’s local storage. My List never leaves your device, and CinemaHub’s server cannot read either setting from your browser. When a title page loads streaming options for your chosen country, however, the two-letter country code (for example, GB) is sent to CinemaHub’s server as part of that request. Like any request, it can appear in the technical logs described above; CinemaHub does not store it as a preference or link it to you. You can delete both settings at any time with the “Clear list” button on My List or by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. See the cookie policy for details.

Third parties your browser contacts

  • TMDB image servers (image.tmdb.org) deliver posters and photos directly to your browser, so they receive your IP address and browser details, as with any image on the web.
  • YouTube (Google) delivers trailer preview images (i.ytimg.com) when a title page with a trailer is shown. The video player itself is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com only when you press play; from then on, Google’s privacy policy applies to the video.
  • Links to TMDB, JustWatch, IMDb, streaming services and official websites open those sites, whose own policies apply.

CinemaHub does not sell personal data, share it for advertising or use it for automated decision-making.

Legal bases

CinemaHub processes the limited technical data above because it is necessary to provide a secure website. For visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the legal basis is legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): delivering the site and protecting it from abuse. In Morocco, processing follows Law No. 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data.

Visitors in the United States: CinemaHub does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and does not knowingly process sensitive personal information.

International transfers

The services that deliver CinemaHub (hosting, Cloudflare, TMDB’s image network and YouTube) may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. These providers state that they use recognized safeguards for such transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.

How long data is kept

  • Rate-limit records: a few hours.
  • Error logs: trimmed automatically and kept no longer than needed to fix problems.
  • Search result cache: hours, without any link to the person who searched.
  • Hosting and Cloudflare logs: as set by those providers.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to data portability. Under Moroccan Law 09-08 you have rights of access, rectification and opposition. Because CinemaHub does not link technical data to individuals, it may be unable to find records about you, but every request will be answered. You may also complain to a data protection authority: in Morocco, the CNDP (Commission nationale de contrôle de la protection des données à caractère personnel); in the EEA or UK, the authority where you live.

Children

CinemaHub is a general-audience information site. It does not knowingly collect personal data from children and has no features that ask for any.

Changes

If the way CinemaHub handles data changes, for example if a new service is added, this page will be updated first and the date at the top will change.
