Editorial Policy

CinemaHub’s aim is simple: help people find something worth watching, with information they can trust. This policy explains how the site’s content is produced and the rules it follows.

Two kinds of content, kept apart

Catalog data is everything retrieved from TMDB: titles, synopses, cast and crew, dates, images, trailers, age ratings and TMDB user scores, plus streaming availability from JustWatch via TMDB. CinemaHub organizes and displays this data but does not rewrite synopses or alter scores. Catalog pages label the source, for example “Synopsis from TMDB”.

Editorial content is written for CinemaHub: guides, the introductions on genre and country pages, the “how this list is built” notes, and any reviews or CinemaHub ratings. Editorial content is always presented separately from catalog data.

Standards for editorial content

  • Accuracy first. Factual statements are checked against reliable sources before publication. Statements about how CinemaHub works are checked against the site itself.
  • No invention. CinemaHub does not fabricate reviews, viewing experiences, quotes, critics’ opinions, interviews, awards, author identities or streaming availability.
  • Honest authorship. Articles are credited to CinemaHub. If named writers contribute in the future, they will be real people credited under their own names.
  • Reviews require viewing. A CinemaHub rating or review will only ever be published by someone who has watched the title, and it will show the date it was written.
  • Useful over long. Articles are written to answer a reader’s question, not to reach a word count or repeat keywords.
  • Verified or flagged. Anything that cannot be verified is either left out or clearly described as uncertain.

Lists and rankings

Ranked lists such as trending and top rated come from TMDB data using rules described on each page (for example, minimum vote counts). CinemaHub does not move titles up or down for any commercial reason.

Independence

CinemaHub does not accept payment for coverage, placement or ratings, and has no affiliate relationships with streaming services. It runs no advertising. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed on this page and next to any affected content.

Use of automation

Catalog pages are generated automatically from TMDB data. Editorial content may be drafted with the help of software tools, but it is reviewed, fact-checked and approved by a person before publication, and the person publishing it is responsible for its accuracy.

Updates and corrections

Guides show their publication date and, when revised, the date of the latest update. Errors are corrected as described in the corrections policy.
